- Seattle radical unschooling chat -- talking online with moms and dads I know in real life about this path
- chocolate, specifically Taza stone-ground dark chocolate bar -- a life-saver for me today when I am feeling so very tired (from staying up late to chat with Seattle radical unschoolers :)
- my body and its exquisite messages, some of which were hard for me to take today but that mark a need, a deep need, to respond, to change, to grow
- a beautiful fall day, two kids bouncing and bounding through the arboretum amid so many greens, reds, pink, and yellow. purple.
- watching the pond fill up, and the boys as they tie a rope to a tire and toss it into the water, attempt to expand the bridge, roll up their pants to walk in the water in the name of teamwork, urge each other on... the big ones helping the little ones
- talking to Orlando about Perseus (we've been reading this book) -- him asking me what words mean, to explain metaphors, why Andromeda would choose Perseus over Agenor and more...
March 31, 2009
- trust and creativity
- sunshine and rain and new growth... Orlando saying to me, "Look, Mama!" and me, distracted, "What?" "Mama! Look!" "What?" "The tree!" He wanted to tell me that the tree outside our window is changing.
- Orlando telling me I was not being centered
Orlando is grateful...
- that our house is rearranged
- that Papa drawed me this Godzilla
April 30, 2008

talking to Kiersten

cleaning
I'm going crazy cleaning our disgustingly dirty home for the visit of my dear, dear friends Kiersten and her family and Hester and her family! I only have 24 days left. Seeing as each cleaning project means my kids are off in some other area of the house totally destroying it, I may be about 1/3 of the way finished by the time they arrive.
my almost five year old boy, Orlando
He is continually amazing me with how grown-up he sounds and acts and looks and how into monsters he is (!!) and how he wants to take care of Mica and how he tells me, "I really love you, Mama."

January 30
- Christy, the helpful person at the store that sells containers and things. May all moms receive assistance when need it.
- For our house, reclaiming the spaces and experiencing feelings of efficiency, energy, and light. May all people have a pleasant space to inhabit.
- losing my cool when I was holding the big, giant thing that contains things and was outside asking Orlando to open the door (I had left it open when I went out the car and he had closed it).
